PHENOMENON OF SYNCHRONICITY IN CREATIVE AI
In this project, the main focus is on exploring the phenomenon of synchronicity in the field of media art, using the creative possibilities of AI. Rapidly improving artificial intelligence technologies provide an opportunity to examine the presence of the phenomenon of synchronicity in media art and the inevitable unique interpretation of captured moments by technology. Currently, creative AI tools have a unique feature that allows them to modify images according to themselves, based on AI algorithms and image recognition interpretation. When working with these technologies, you can never be sure that the artificial intelligence will give you exactly what you wanted, and thus there are many moments where, through the modified images, you can discover meaningful moments influenced by the “imperfection” of the artificial intelligence. It can be said that this is a unique moment of synchronicity that only artificial intelligence perceives when interpreting the image presented to it. This is how unique moments of synchronicity are born for the creator and the audience. Watching the image transform into something else, or something similar. In this way, it is possible to interpret the modified image personally, when the technologies themselves do not specifically reveal how and why they modified the specifically assigned image.
This project depicts images processed by artificial intelligence according to the technology’s own interpretation through image recognition, which aims to allow a person to take and understand the visual personally and look at it from the perspective of AI and think – why did the artificial intelligence do this? The purpose of the video montage was to visually represent certain moments of the phenomenon of synchronicity with the help of new AI possibilities, but to allow it to be done according to its own interpretation.
