RESSURECTION
My mom’s love for plants, herbs, and farming, and my elder brother being a forester, must have fueled my love for nature and serenity. The major event that inspired my nature and environment-themed works was my experience during the pandemic—this period left me struggling in life and my career. It was until I returned to my family, that I found solace and stability in my parents’ garden. Its serene ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for my creative endeavors, offering clarity and peace. My experience while spending time at their garden is a testament to nature’s profound impact on mental well-being and its role in creativity and healing. This realization further inspired the need to use my artistry to express my concerns on plastic wastes and its effect on humans and our planet. Growing up in Lagos, and experiencing flooding first hand on many occasions., I realized the contribution of plastic pollution to the issue of flooding. My aim is to explore the link between humans, plastic, and the environment, urging us to protect nature.
