The “Echoes”

The “Echoes” project is a personal visual story about mental well-being and how the perception of reality depends on my mental well-being. The way we perceive external stimuli results directly from our internal balance or lack of this balance. My lack of balance results from long-term depression, which I have been suffering from for 9 years. The sequence of events and reactions of my body led me to perpetuate the disease, which I am still getting used to and which continues. I don’t know if it will become a permanent part of my everyday life. Chronic depression eats up feelings, flattens perception, and sometimes sharpens what we would like. It’s still you, but you don’t feel like yourself. Everything is interwoven with the outside world, the family that is my anchor, but the most important changes are in my internal landscape. I am looking for myself, which I sometimes forget and sometimes lose. And I need to get back to myself, to be just fine. The path of my inner journey is intertwined with the cycles of nature. I use working with natural materials as a form of art therapy.
