Žilvinas Glušinskas: book presentation
October 19, 1:00 p.m.
Twice a year, when the weather turns warm, music can be heard echoing from a private homestead along Jonavos Street—drowning out the noise of passing traffic. For members of the alternative culture scene, it serves as a signal of an informal gathering known as “The Party at the Mechanic’s Fazenda”, a place whose location is never publicly announced and is shared only by word of mouth.
The images in this book likewise defy conventional expectations: motion blur, deliberate lack of focus, fragmented compositions, and stark flash contrasts reject the rules of “proper” photography, yet perfectly capture spontaneity and evoke a sense of genuine experience. “10 Parties at the Fazenda” continues one of these stories—set in a homestead of unknown address, where reality and myth merge into a single night.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase on-site, along with the opportunity to receive the author’s autograph.
