Biography

Artūras Morozovas is a Lithuanian documentary photographer, Chairman of the The Lithuanian Society of Art Photography, and a lecturer at the Academy of Arts of Kauno kolegija. In 2023, he was granted the official status of an art creator by the Republic of Lithuania. Since 2006, working as a photojournalist, he has covered events in Lithuania and across Europe, documented military conflicts in Georgia and Ukraine, post-conflict situations in Chechnya and Palestine, as well as the migration of refugees from Syria and other Arab countries to Europe.

Morozovas’s photographs have been published in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Der Spiegel, and other media outlets. He is also one of the founders of the contemporary media agency Nara.lt. Although his professional career began in journalism, Morozovas continues the tradition of Lithuanian humanist photography in his artistic practice, focusing primarily on people and their everyday lives. He has held solo exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, received the Golden Frame award five times in the Lithuanian Press Photography competition, and was one of the cinematographers of Winter on Fire, the Oscar-nominated documentary about the Maidan revolution.
