Laurynas Mataitis

Laurynas Mataitis is a Vilnius-based media artist, producer, cinematographer, and founder of the creative company Scuare. His practice spans video art, photography, experimental audiovisual projects, and interdisciplinary installations. He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Photography and Media Art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where he honed his vision and developed a strong interest in social, cultural, and historical themes.

Alongside his art practice, Laurynas is active in music video production, collaborating with leading Lithuanian musicians and bands. His videos are noted for their atmosphere, distinctive rhythm, and visual sensitivity, often blending documentary, poetry, and cinema.

Working from concept to realization, Laurynas takes on the roles of producer, cinematographer, and director. Through Scuare, he merges art with experimental visual culture, creating not only commercials and music videos but also original projects that address pressing socio-cultural issues.

His works have been exhibited in galleries and presented at audiovisual events. Visually striking, conceptually rigorous, and technically precise, they exist at the intersection of industry and independent creation.
