Biography

Lesia Pcholka is a visual artist based between Berlin and Poland. She is a founder of VEHA Archive, a horizontal organization dedicated to preserving and studying Belarusian archival photography.

Working across photography, video, and installations, often incorporating archival materials, L. Pcholka explores collective memory, the interplay between official narratives and undocumented histories, and political trauma. She frequently collaborates with community archives to reveal layered stories within public and private consciousness.

Her photographs of the 2020 Belarus protest movement gained international recognition and were featured in many prestigious international publications. She has exhibited in Vienna, Gdynia, Berlin, Kyiv, and beyond, with works held in galleries in Italy and Poland, and in private collections in Belarus, Poland, and Germany.
