Biography

Lukas Mykolaitis’ creative practice often begins with photography but expands into various interdisciplinary modes of expression, incorporating strategies of artistic research, image collection, and curation. His artistic work is grounded in the concept of slow time, focusing on observation, the analysis of image perception, the alteration of contexts, and the formation of unexpected connections. His projects explore the intricate labyrinths of personal and collective memory, blurring the line between life and research.

Mykolaitis actively participates in solo and group exhibitions, works as a freelance architectural photographer, and since 2020 has been leading the artistic direction of the “Heritage Institute” collective. In 2022-2023, he contributed to the creation of the book “Arno Funk[cionalism],” which was later awarded the National Architecture Award.
