Biography
Valentyn Odnoviun is a curator, visual artist, and photography theorist specialising in the histories and intersections of Eastern European photographic cultures. He holds MA degrees in Photography and Media Arts, as well as Art History and Theory, from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and is currently completing a dissertation at the Lithuanian Culture Research Institute on transnational photographic exchanges in the second half of the twentieth century.
Since 2021, Odnoviun has curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions at leading institutions, including the Association of Lithuanian Art Photographers galleries, the INTERPHOTO Festival (Białystok, PL), Šiauliai Photography Museum, and the National Art Gallery of Lithuania. He has developed and implemented curatorial projects that foreground regional dialogues, institutional histories, and the visual languages of Baltic, Ukrainian, and broader Eastern European photographers.
Odnoviun serves as curator at the Šiauliai Photography Museum, lecturer at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and Visual Arts expert for the Lithuanian Council for Culture. He is an active member of the organisational committees for both the INTERPHOTO Festival in Białystok and the International Photography and Media Art Festival in Kaunas, contributing to programming, artist selection, and international collaborations.
His writing and research have appeared in exhibition catalogues, academic journals, and conference proceedings.
